The Witcher is DOOMED: How Show Runners Gaslight and Use Circular Reasoning

Like in the beginning of this video, with the clip of the interviewer calling fans toxic when fans are upset that their favorite characters and universes are disrespected by the show runners/shows, they are gaslighting fans for the “non-contradiction principle” found in philosophy. This principle is natural and therefore universal, because contradictions are not found in nature, so they are either an error in reasoning/understanding, or they are a lie. I highly doubt that the show runners are failing to understand what they are doing, which must make it a conscious lie, and therefore they are gaslighting the fans, which is an attempt to gain power over them like a narcissist tries to get power over their prey.

When we spot a contradiction, it is a red flag that we need to fill in some gaps in our understanding, or that we are being lied to, so in either case, it means that we should start to ask questions to figure out whether or not it is our understanding that needs upgrading, or if it is a person lying to us for some reason or another. Additionally, after we figure out if our understanding is limited or we are being lied to, we still need to ask more questions to fill in the gaps and raise our understanding, and/ore figure out why we are being lied to, to the point where we are again in a state of natural “non-contradiction” and internal alignment.

This technique was highlighted by Saul Alinsky, the mentor of both Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama, in his book “Rules for Radicals”, in which he stated “ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.” My question is, what concessions is the media and Hollywood attempting to get from the fans when they ridicule us by creating contradictions in their content and then attacking us with incessant ridicule for spotting their contradictions?

Additionally, at the 9:00 minute mark or so I laughed when the show runner used a classic example of circular reasoning as her reason for fans to continue watching her shitty show. Essentially she’s saying, “you need to watch our shit show even if you’re upset that we hate the source material, because if you don’t it will be detrimental to our shit show’s survival.” Huh!?!?! It seems she failed logic 101 in college, or again is gaslighting the fans by using poor logic in another attempt to ridicule, confuse, and humiliate them. If she was truly humble and sorry for her shit show, she’d apologize for disrespecting the source material, and hire new writers that understand and love the source material, but in the interview, she never addressed the giant elephant in the room.

Would you like to become immune to such tactics? If so, all you need to do is work through each trigger as you experience them. In this situation, you’d have to feel into the contradictions between what you know a character to be, and the reality of how the character is being portrayed in the show, and name the feeling. Are you feeling anger, sadness, or fear, which are the three main categories, or is it another more refined feeling that is within one of the three main categories of negative emotions? Then, feel into your childhood to discover the first time you felt that feeling. Ask yourself:

How old was I when I first felt this emotion? Who was with me when I first felt this emotion? What is the story surrounding me when I first felt this emotion?

Once you discover your age, who was with you, and the story of the first time you felt that emotion, now as your adult self, speak with your inner child at that time and comfort them, and help them make sense of the experience. Keep doing this until the emotional charge in the current situation is diminished enough for you to not feel the original negative emotion, and you’ve just ascended to a new level of “not having any fucks to give”. Rinse and repeat with each trigger you experience in life, and you will give less and less fucks in life, and therefore be less and less controllable by narcissists who are attempting to gain power over you through gaslighting you.

THE UNITY PROCESS: I’ve created an integrative methodology called the Unity Process, which combines the philosophy of Natural Law, the Trivium Method, Socratic Questioning, Jungian shadow work, and Meridian Tapping—into an easy to use system that allows people to process their emotional upsets, work through trauma, correct poor thinking, discover meaning, set healthy boundaries, refine their viewpoints, and to achieve a positive focus. You can give it a try by contacting me for a private session.
